Turkmenistan’s Leaders Meet with Head of Daewoo Engineering & Construction
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting on Saturday with Jung Won-ju, Chairman of the Board of the South Korean company Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd., who arrived in the country on a working visit, according to Turkmenistan’s official media. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s Meeting with Jung Won-ju: During the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that a contract had been signed between the State Concern “Turkmenhimiya” and Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. to build a facility for the production of mineral fertilizers at a chemical plant in Turkmenabat. He said this agreement marks a new stage in bilateral cooperation and wished success to all employees of the company in implementing the project. Expressing gratitude to the head of state for the opportunities being created to operate effectively in Turkmenistan’s promising market, the businessman affirmed that his company would fulfill its contractual obligations. Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s Meeting with Jung Won-ju: The National Leader of the Turkmen People noted that Korean companies are also involved in the construction of the Medical Cluster in Arkadag city. He emphasized that Turkmenistan places particular importance on ensuring the efficiency of newly constructed facilities, compliance with environmental standards, and the integration of the latest achievements in science and technology. He expressed confidence that Daewoo would fulfill its contractual obligations with high quality and on time. The businessman thanked Turkmenistan for the conditions created to fulfill partnership commitments and announced that the Korea Taekwondo Association had decided to award Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov the ninth dan, the highest level of mastery in taekwondo. He asked for permission to present the corresponding certificate and a special taekwondo uniform. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted the wide popularity of taekwondo among young people in Turkmenistan and expressed satisfaction with Turkmen athletes’ achievements in international competitions. In this regard, the Hero-Arkadag proposed that the head of Kukkiwon, Korea’s taekwondo governing body, meet with Turkmen athletes and share professional advice during a future visit.
